Here are three award shows that our judges felt did the best job in keeping radio and audio front and centre. They all use headsets, live judging and are careful to select juries that have had real-world experience in the audio world.
1. Mercury Awards
Featuring a creative cash prize that dwarfs most award shows, the US Mercury Awards is a big deal. Now with an international category, expect it to become even more influential for radio, and appealing to agencies.
With live judging (leading to a far more thorough process) an Innovation category and the distinguished Radio and Audio Company of the Year award, LIA is a real champion of audio. As for the award show – there isn’t one. Instead, the money is put towards the Creative LIAisons programme held to inspire the world’s best upcoming creatives.
3. Cannes Lions
The biggest award show in the world still doesn’t disappoint with one of the largest and most international live juries on the awards calendar.
